An apology

On 2 September we published a story about who could have been working for Jeremy Corbyn in No 10 had he won the 2017 election.

On 2 September we published a story about who could have been working for Jeremy Corbyn in No 10 had he won the 2017 election. It was based on a staffing plan document allegedly drawn up by a senior member of Jeremy Corbyn’s team and handed to us by a trusted source.

We have since investigated concerns about the document and seen further evidence that casts doubt on its authenticity. As a result we have now deleted the story and apologise unreservedly to anyone we misled. We seek to hold ourselves to the same high standards we demand of others, and accept that this was a major error of judgement. We are sorry.
