Jon Lansman has declared his intention to run for General Secretary of the Labour Party, but he starts the race far behind favourite Jennie Formby with just two endorsements to her thirty-three.
Nearly a dozen MPs have already declared their support for Unite South East Regional Secretary Jennie Formby, including the Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell.
Left blogger Skwawkbox also claims that up to ten members of Labour’s ruling NEC, the body who will decide on Labour’s next General Secretary on Tuesday 20 March, have already backed Formby. Of the ten, only TSSA union rep Andi Fox has public stated her support.
This should worry Lansman, whose Momentum campaign group was originally run out of the TSSA’s headquarters in London. So far Lansman has only received public support from Aaron Bastani and Michael Walker from left-wing news site Novara Media.
A full list of endorsements has been compiled below, with entries based solely on reports in italics.
